Carrot Cake with Butter

This brown butter carrot cake is a layered semi-naked cake. It has three layers of heavily spiced moist carrot cake. Then, it is full of cream cheese frosting.

STEP 1: Brown the butter. Mix in the brown sugar, sour cream, vanilla, shredded carrots, and eggs.

STEP 2: Add in the dry ingredients. Pour in three 8 inch cake pans.

STEP 3: Bake for 18-20 minutes. Cool completely.

STEP 4: Cream cheese frosting. Beat butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream.

STEP 5: Spread 1 cup of frosting per cake layer. Frost the cake in the frosting.

STEP 6: Use the cake scrapper to leave a light layer of frosting for a semi-naked look.

STEP 7: Top cake with chopped walnuts. OPTIONAL.
