Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts

These cinnamon sugar doughnuts are a homemade fried donut covered in melted butter and crunchy cinnamon sugar. These doughnuts are incredibly fluffy and are easily fried.

STEP 1: Heat the butter and milk in the microwave. Combine the yeast with the milk. 

STEP 2: In a stand mixer, combine salt, sugar, yeast, vanilla, beaten eggs, milk and butter. Use a dough hook and add flour. Knead until it is tacky and not sticky. 

STEP 3: Place dough ball in a greased mixing bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour. Chill in fridge overnight. 

STEP 4: Roll out the dough on a floured surface. Cut out doughnuts. Place them on a cutting board or sprayed cookie sheet to rise for 2 hours. 

STEP 5: Heat oil in a deep pot until 350 degrees. Fry 2 donuts at a time. Cook for 1 minute on each side until golden on each side. 

STEP 6: Let oil drip off. Move to a cooling rack until slightly cooled.  

STEP 7: Topping. Fill one bowl with melted butter and one bowl with sugar and cinnamon. Dip the doughnuts in butter then in the sugar and cinnamon. Place on cooling rack.
