Ding Dong Cake

This Ding Dong cake is homemade big version of the Hostess Ding Dongs! This a two layer chocolate cake filled with a cream center.

STEP 1: Combine dry ingredients. 

STEP 2: Combine wet ingredients. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients. 

STEP 3: Pour evenly between 2 prepared pans. Bake for 25-28 minutes. Cool.  

STEP 4: Cream filling. Beat butter and sugar. Add vanilla and thickened milk. Beat filling until similar to whipped cream. 

STEP 5: Place 1st layer down. Spread 1 cup of filling over the top. Place the 2nd layer. Smooth the filling around the cake. 

STEP 6: Freeze cake for 10 minutes. Heat and mix the ganache.  

STEP 7: Pour the ganache over the top of the cake. Decorate with swirl.
