Layered Pecan Pie Cake

This pecan pie cake is a layered spice cake full of pecan pie filling. The cake is topped with brown butter frosting and topped with extra pecan pie filling.

STEP 1: Mix the wet ingredients. 

STEP 2: Alternate adding  the dry ingredients and buttermilk until mixed in. 

STEP 3: Pour batter evenly between 2 prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes. 

STEP 4: Combine and cook filling ingredients. 

STEP 5: Brown the butter and mix frosting ingredients.  

STEP 6: Frost the bottom cake layer with 3/4 cup of frosting. Top with 1 cup of pecan pie filling. 

STEP 7: Add top layer. Frost on a crumb coat and freeze 10 minutes. Frost the rest of the cake and top with pecan pie filling.
