Rainbow Swirl Cake

This rainbow swirl cake is a layered vanilla cake that has food dye swirled into each layer! The cake is topped with cream cheese frosting and decorated with rainbow frosting.

STEP 1: Mix oil, butter, and sugar on high speed for 3 minutes. Add in sour cream, vanilla, and eggs.

STEP 2: Add in flour and buttermilk.

STEP 3: Pour batter into three 8-inch cake pans. Drop gel food dye on top of batter.

STEP 4: Use a butter knife to swirl the colors. 

STEP 5: Bake for 20 minutes. Cool completely. 

STEP 6: Cream Cheese Frosting. Beat butter and cream cheese. Add in powdered sugar, vanilla, salt, and heavy cream. 

STEP 7: Spread 1 cup of frosting per cake layer. Frost the cake and top with rainbow frosting.
