Butterscotch 3 Layer Cake

This butterscotch cake is a layered cake made with both butterscotch sauce and butterscotch chips. It is filled with butterscotch frosting and topped with  butterscotch drip.

STEP 1: Combine wet cake batter ingredients including homemade butterscotch sauce.

STEP 2: Add the dry ingredients and buttermilk. Bake for 20-24 minutes. 

STEP 3: Butterscotch ganache. Mix hot heavy cream and butterscotch chips. 

STEP 4: Butterscotch frosting. Beat butter on high for 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients.

STEP 5: Frost 3/4 cup of frosting on the first cake layer. 

STEP 6: Spread a half cup of butterscotch sauce in the middle of the cake.

STEP 7: Frost the rest of the cake.
