Lemon Drizzle Cake

This lemon drizzle cake is a single layer lemon cake with holes poked into it and a lemon drizzle soaked in. It is topped with a lemon cream cheese frosting. It is packed with lemon flavor!

STEP 1: Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.

STEP 2: In another bowl, mix lemon zest, lemon juice, and sour cream. Then mix in eggs.

STEP 3: Mix half of the dry ingredients and half of the buttermilk in. Then mix in the other half.

STEP 4: Pour the batter in a 9X9 cake pan and bake for 24-27 minutes.

STEP 5: Heat lemon juice and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar melts. Poke holes in the cake and pour the drizzle on top.

STEP 6: Beat butter and cream cheese for 2 minutes. Mix in the powdered sugar, then mix in the lemon zest and a pinch of salt.

STEP 7: Frost the cake and enjoy!
