Easy Apple Bread

This apple bread is made in a loaf pan, it is a soft cinnamon loaf with apples mixed in. It is topped with cinnamon sugar. The perfect recipe to use your apples!

Ingredients

Apples

  • 2 cups Gala apples diced
  • 2 tsp All-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon

Apple Bread

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 1/2 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Large eggs room temperature
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup Milk room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Sour cream room temperature or greek yogurt

Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1/4 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon

Instructions

Apples

  • Peel the apples and diced them into small cubes. Place apples, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl and mix until covered.

Apple Bread

  • Preheat the oven to 350℉. Spray a 9X5- inch loaf pan with baking nonstick spray. Line the bottoms and 2 sides with parchment paper and spray again. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
    2 cups All-purpose flour, 1 tsp Baking powder, 1/2 tsp Baking soda, 1/2 tsp Salt, 2 tsp Ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, eggs, apple sauce, milk, and sour cream. Add the dry ingredients and mix until combined. Pour the apples on top of the batter and gently fold them into the batter.

  • Pour the batter into the pan. Mix the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it on top of the batter, do this until well covered.
    1/4 cup White granulated sugar, 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • Bake for 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes in the hot pan. Then, transfer to a cooling rack. Cool completely.

Notes

Flour- Make sure flour is spooned and leveled or use a kitchen scale. Compacted flour can dry out the bread.
High altitude baking- Add an extra 2 TBSP of flour.
Pull out dairy ingredients 2 hours before baking.
