About Me
I'm Stephanie! I am the baker, videographer, and photographer behind Stephanie's Sweet Treats.
I have been baking in the kitchen for my whole life. I am a self taught baker with 7+ years of experience making my own dessert recipes. I love to create decadent dessert recipes that anyone can make!
I created Stephanie Sweet Treats because I wanted to be able to share my recipes for you all. Mostly, I wanted to show that even if you are an amateur baker, you can create beautiful desserts for your friends and family.
Here you can find decadent and elevated dessert recipes. They all have my best expert tips and tricks so your dessert comes out excellent. Every recipe has process pictures, so you can easily follow along.
Every recipe has been tested, tested again, and again in my own kitchen. My goal is you can bake your dessert with confidence because I hope to give you everything that you might need.
Through the years I have been featured on pioneer woman, mashed, cheryl's, wusthof, lilly's, edible arrangements, and chowhound. I have also been featured on the feedfeed, country living magazine, and draper james!
How I started my blog journey
I used to only use box mix (who doesn't??) and I would slather on frosting and call it a day. I used to want desserts fast and quick with very little effort. I never spent too much time building my skills. However, everything changed for me once I had my first son.
I had severe postpartum depression. I had a very hard time finding my joy; until I got to watch Great British Baking Show and I thought, I could do that! I struggled with being a new mom and being with my baby who had a few issues at birth. I needed something that would make me feel like me again.
Baking gave me so much joy. I loved being able to create something beautiful (eating it was great too!). My first big project was mini cheesecakes topped with chocolate covered strawberries for a Valentine's Day party and I was hooked.
I was hooked on wanting to improve and getting better and better.
Over the last 7+ years, I have learned so much. Mostly by trial and error and by reading tips and tricks from other bakers. So, now I want to share all of my new tricks on how to get a good bake packed with flavor that looks impressive but is easy to do too.
My Boys
I am married to my very best friend who encourages me to bake as much as I have. He is also a certified taste tester for anything that I make. We have been together since 2011 and he has been my rock through everything. He very much supports me constantly baking him desserts.
I have a son who is always wanting to help me in the kitchen and is so spoiled with all of the cookies and cake that I make. One of his first words was "Cookie" and he makes everything worth it.
In 2024, I also had a second son. After two years of fertility treatments and a miscarriage, I finally had him. He is perfect in everyway!
FAQ's
I live in Colorado, so I have lots of experience of high altitude baking. Add 1 Tablespoon of flour per cup of flour. This helps so much with cakes that sink or cookies that spread too much.
Actually, no I haven't. Baking is a science, so when I first started I had no idea what I was doing. However after some education, it comes so naturally to me now! Like in Ratatouille, I believe anyone can bake.
Yes I do! I baked every single one. I do have my husband to help me with the backend and to bring me my ingredients though.
