I'm Stephanie! I am a huge believer that sweets can fix all issues. All of my life, I was either baking or thinking about baking, or eating baked goods. I love sweets so much. I have a huge passion to share my homemade desserts with all of you, so you can learn how to easily bake them too.
How I Started Out
I used to only use box mix (who doesn't??) and I would slather on frosting and call it a day. I used to want desserts fast and quick with very little effort. I never spent too much time building my skills. However, everything changed for me once I had my son.
I had severe postpartum depression. I had a very hard time finding my joy; until I got to watch Great British Baking Show and I thought, I could do that! I struggled with being a new mom and being with my baby who had a few issues at birth. I needed something that would make me feel like me again.
Baking gave me so much joy. I loved being able to create something beautiful (eating it was great too!). My first big project was mini cheesecakes topped with chocolate covered strawberries for a Valentine's Day party and I was hooked.
I was hooked on wanting to improve and getting better and better.
Over the last couple of years I have learned so much. Mostly by trial and error and by reading tips and tricks from other bakers. So, now I want to share all of my new tricks on how to get a good bake packed with flavor that looks impressive but is easy to do too. I basically want to show you everything.
Weight Loss
In July of 2019, I decided I needed to lose weight. I was always a bigger girl, but after having a baby and eating everything in sight, I had to change my ways.
I started off by not eating fast food. After I knew I could handle that, I stopped buying junk food (goodbye sour cream and onion goldfish!). After that I started to workout 3 times a week. Then I did 4 times a week. Then 5.
After that I started to really hone in on my diet. I am doing a high protein, high veggie, and low carb "diet". More like a new lifestyle now.
No programs. No special diets. No magic pill. Just me, eating healthy, and exercising. When I write this now, I have lost 47 lbs in March 2020. Do I have more to go? Yes. I am so happy with how far I have come.
Weight loss + Desserts? Can You Have Both?
YES. I believe that you can have things you like in moderation. I seriously bake desserts all the time. Obviously I do take test bites of my desserts. However, I tell myself I can have dessert once a week.
When I do have dessert its a little piece. Not a whole chunk of cheesecake like old Stephanie would have done. You can have desserts and enjoy life while trying to be healthy at the same time. It is possible.
My Boys
I am married to my very best friend who encourages me to bake as much as I have. He is also a certified taste tester for anything that I make. We have been together since 2011 and he has been my rock through everything. He very much supports me constantly baking him desserts.
I have a son who is always wanting to help me in the kitchen and is so spoiled with all of the cookies and cake that I make. He is a toddler, that makes baking challenging sometimes. One of his first words was "Cookie" and he makes everything worth it.

I want to show all of you how possible it is to bake all these amazing desserts, whether it be a chewy cookie, a moist and creamy cheesecake, or fudgy brownies. It is all possible.
